The observation deck views are some of the best in LA & take D dash to avoid parking a block away
I went to observation deck of LA City Hall and the views are amazing! It's free, open during weekdays until 5pm, entrance is from Spring St. Get your camera ready!
The free observatory on top which is open on weekdays only offers splendid 360 degree views of the city. Offers a very unique view and wasn't crowded at all at noon time on a weekday.
The observation deck has great views of the city. Be prepared to pass through security and metal detectors. You'll need to swap elevators once and still climb another set of stairs. Everyone was friendly and the view was fantastic. We were able to take pictures of the Griffith Observatory and later that day took pictures of the City Hall from the Observatory. The only downside was the parking deck is underground a block away. To get from the deck to the building you pass through a park with an assortment of homeless sleeping on the benches and in the bushes.
A very nice place to see downtown LA from. Due to the position of the building outside of LA's skyline, you get to see the skyline from a very good vantage point. You enter from Main St. entrance go through some security and then you can go to the top floor of the building. The mayor's office is on the way and there is a cool podium on the top floor. Plus it's free!
