I can see from a few reviews the alt-right (polite term for racist uneducated losers) trolls are out in force as part of their war on public education. The very best of society are sure to suffer the wrath from the very worst, so this speaks well of Cal State LA. Granting opportunity and enlightenment to those unjustly denied this historically is one of humanity's most virtuous achievements. Cal State LA rises to this calling!
I’m a TV and film major, the school is absolutely fantastic. I don’t know how people even dare to rate this school with 1 Star. The mass media lied to me by saying that the dorms are segregated but in reality they’re so peaceful and people are friendly- there’s no such thing as segregation from my experience of dorming here. The film department is absolutely fantastic and filled with resources to help students be successful. The school is very nice in general, although the ‘king hall’ building is pretty terrible but no biggy for me. The school is in the heart of LA and is only 10 minutes away from downtown. Most professors are industry professionals and are still active in Hollywood, that includes the writer of “Go Diego go” and producer of top selling film “Under the Same Moon”. Plus some professors will let you intern with projects they’re involved in such as music videos with celebrities etc. Most people complaining on here are those who are lazy AF and don’t want to make the effort to go out and search for the resources; the school is what you make of it. To change subjects, I love how there’s a Metrolink station situated in front of the school; super convenient because I can visit my family back in Oceanside. Just one thing, the food is awful where the golden eagle building is, but if you go down to the housing dining hall they actually have an all you can eat buffet and it’s lovely. Off campus, there’s also a 7- eleven and a Mexican restaurant (12 minutes walking) ... I can go on and on bragging about how great the school is, but I’ll just leave it at that... pssst. Excuse the typos, I did it from my phone.

This is a very liberal campus. They push a far left victim mentality on the students. I felt completely disempowered after studying here - Not a good way to prepare for the real world... I guess it's fine if you want to stay in academia.
Very poor school. Some of the core programs are good, but the required general ed classes are little more than caustic rhetoric designed to sway young minds into adopting their narrow-minded far left bigotry. While attending classes I learn how to hate the traditional family model, I learned how white people are holding me and every nonwhite back by way of their their exclusive privilege, I learned that men are chauvinist pigs and women are the innocent victims, and I learned that having a differing point of view than what is being taught will not be tolerated. It's sad to think that the majority of students will leave this school believing they are victims doomed to failure in a "system" set against them. Ironically, many of these same students receive tuition reimbursement and grants from the same "system" they are taught to hate.
