Early morning might get a little too crowded with difficulty to navigate through the cemetery or find parking.. Tranquil place with plenty to see... Including these peacock family..
Our family's first Dia de Los muertos parade since moving to Los Angeles! Hopefully the first of many more! Such a wonderful day celebrating culture and community! The festivities begin as early as 12 with multiple stages featuring traditional dancing and music. There is a free photo set supplied by the cemetery as well as a costume party featuring some of the best day of the dead costumes and make up sponsored by local production teams. Food and drinks are prohibited at entry but vendors inside have an assortment of dishes for you to choose from. Fun for the whole family and a tradition to be enjoyed by all those who are fortunate enough to find parking!
Attended the Cinespia showing of Ghostbusters. This was such an awesome event and I can see why it is a must attend while in LA. Tickets sellout weeks in advance so plan accordingly. There is live music and you can bring your own drinks/food. We had a little picnic and watched an iconic movie. Couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my Saturday night.
October 28, 2017 was the first time I’ve been here and it was alive a lot of altares for the day of the dead. Live music & performances as well as face painting artist. This cemetery is considered a historic site, if you haven’t visited this place your missing out!
