The L.A. Central Library is a beautiful place to visit. Even if you don't go to check out books, the building is a photographer's paradise.
The architectural art deco details are amazing. Be sure to have a gaze at the beautiful murals and the antique globe chandelier in the second floor rotunda.
The Library's beautifully restored 1925 building draws you in while the 1993 annex was designed to beautifully blend in with it's historic sister.
Our school Angeles Workshop School takes a field trip every Thursday, and we love going downtown to explore; The Central Library is a wonderful visit! We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition of Chicano muralists Tlacolulokos-- an absolute masterpiece!
This place is amazing. Most library branches are bland and boring, but this one is a library and museum rolled into one. Beautiful architecture with art exhibits inside and pretty much anything you could possibly want books and resources wise. I was quite impressed with this place.
This is such a beautiful library. I visited for the free exhibit on Oaxaca in Los Angeles. It did not disappoint. I am not sure if this is a permanent exhibition, but check it out if you get the chance! They have a wide variety of resources. If anything, it is a great stop to escape the Los Angeles sun.
public libraries still exist.. This was one is a good one. I can always find a good book to read and for the kids to read too.
There's also a small gift shop located on the first floor that sells library and literary-related souvenirs.
The Maguire gardens located behind the Library at Flower and fifth streets is a beautiful place to sit down and gaze up at the Downtown L.A. skyscrapers.
