It's sad to see such a rich, historical place close down. This place was one of the first gay clubs in LA. Yes it was run down, raggedy, and the bouncers assaulted you for no reason...but on a good day, it was always nice to come here and have a drink. Now it's closed and will probably be replaced by some new hip apartment complex.
This takes me back to the late 70's and 80's. I loved going there dancing. I couldn't wait for Saturday night. Nothing but good memories and fun.
C'est la vie, I guess.
During the eighties the Catch was the only club on the west coast pumping Chicago House Music and all the hot soulful funk and disco of that era. Saturday nights were the bomb...I would drive up with friends from San Diego for the weekend. Good Times.
I am only giving it a one because I can't rate it any lower. I had absolutely a miserable time when I went there and the food is terrible. I am a big girl there is not much I don't eat so if I won't put it in my mouth it has to be seriously gross. Go anywhere but here. If hell has a reservation grab it. You will still have a better time than if you went to Catch One.
