Don't send your children, Their future will be ruined. You and them will regret it so much in the long run. It is a school that only helps a certain few and the "chosen" few that are chosen by certain staff, and administrators at the school. I talk from experience; former student and alumni. I was denied several courses during my years here, from Advancement placement courses to even certain classes when my schedule was open, I had the capability to take those courses, and not only that but I myself would go and speak to the academic counselors there as a teenager in order to try to advance my life, self-development, and to overall better myself and create a brighter future, but was not taken seriously and was always denied. even though I would take the long route and go myself to go speak to the certain teachers, and clearly they would give me the thumbs up on joining the class, but it was always the academic counselors who never gave me the opportunity. I'll name my main one, Ms. D'Mato. take note of the maturity, and responsibility I was willing to take at 15 years old when I was trying to excel and improve my life but was denied by these so called, "people that are here to help." I question them because there were other students who like me went and they were given the opportunity to take certain advanced courses to get into certain universities and the only thing they told me for 4 years was that, the class was full or would never even see me even though I made appointments to speak to academic counselors. So I never had the opportunity to mold my own future, it was always controlled by the academic counselor in bad terms for no apparent reason even though I would go and try to speak to them like an adult. It's really shocking to see that we come from a community where things are not the best, there are less resources and opportunities, and the only people hurting us even more, and not brightening our future are the administrators, and academic counselors who claim are there to "HELP." Opportunities, advancement placement courses are stripped away at this school and only given to the people who the school chooses or likes. And what's worse is that they don't even let you leave the school. I know I would have had a better shot at another school, and been at a prestigious university. since at this school they don't care about brightening your future but what they would always say is that they were not willing to give you a signature to move to another school. That's all that is needed. I would always go and look for opportunities in other high schools since I noticed this school was not willing to help, and the other high schools were willing to give me the opportunity, but this school always denied the simple signature that was needed. so I never had the chance to even experience change. All I received was oppression and being denied opportunities that would have greatly changed my academic life. So think twice before sending your kids here. It could ruin their life, and future forever...

Amazing high school to attend. They offer colllege courses and can get college credit as a junior and senior. The college corner helps you getting scholarships and making sure you get into college. Students here attend prestigious universities such as UCLA and Wesleyan.
