No nonsense shop with friendly service.
Just go to Maestros!
Yes. Just go to Maestros.
For great prices and fast service, come here. Brought in two bikes that needed TLC and new parts, cost me under $150 to have like new bikes. Totally recommend.
Manny is the star of the show, he's a really good listener, not a BSer and does really good work. Always has really great recommendations. The other guy, junior also does "good work", when you are having a problem he presents a few options of what way you could tackle your issue, you just have to make sure he's being honest. El Maestro himself is a very gentle guy that knows a lot about bikes. He literally is the Maestro that the other two go to for the big answers. I really like everyone that works here. You can trust them.
They don't have nothing instock and they're supre high price and everything. Don't waste your time here.
If there's other cyclists in there with you, all arriving at different times, they handle the flow of helping everyone at once really well. We're all trying to get to work or in the middle of a delivery or just trying to get a tube on the way to somewhere or something. They really respect your time here. You'll never be standing in line waiting to buy one thing while the cashier gabs and gabs and gabs about some non-related thing completely ignoring you. Everyone here knows their inventory of what's in store and they even recommend stuff outside of the shop in those rare times they don't have what you need. Cyclists usually don't have time, Maestros never wastes yours.
Just save the headaches that the other "big deal" shops nearby ultimately will leave you with. No buyer's remorse. You will feel good about spending your money here. I've bought so many parts and have had so many repairs done here that lasted for so long. They've worked on several of my bikes and for those times where it's not in-and-out, they have a really comfy chair to chill and watch bike videos while listening to good tunes. If it takes a day or two if you really messed up your bike, they've given me loaner bikes, so i don't have to uber to work, and don't have to miss deliveries. If they don't have it, they can order it. What can I say?
My favorite bike shop in the city. I commute on my bike and put thousands of miles on it every year and these guys take care of any issues I have. Fair prices, quality work, super cool guys.
If you just moved downtown, or have lived downtown but just got a bike, at first it seems like there's a ton of shops for cyclists and you'll be fine, then it seems like every single bike shop downtown has something wrong with it. I've been riding for about 3 years, trying to give the different bike shops all my business equally hoping to settle for the best once i figured out which one it was. Sometimes it's a matter of what's closest because you're in a jam and got a flat and can only walk a block because you are in the middle of a delivery or something, so it's good to know all the shops, but i think EL MAESTRO is downtown's best bike shop. There was one time I went in and I think I needed my rear derailleur adjusted and i remember i had to drive away twice and come back a 3rd time because they didn't set it how i asked and for a while I thought there's just no good bike shops downtown, but that was like one out of I don't even know how many repairs now. Maybe it was my wording. Maybe that one complaint wasn't even their fault. This place is the best place to stop.
