Exhibits were plentiful under a huge tent just behind two wigwams.
Native American Indian and indigenous plants and animals took center stage this weekend. An original score scored a Homer with a flute and dance as well
What a great place to go see so much History and have a great event. Make sure you have a full day to check the Autry Museum out. It's really worth your time and money.
There is always something interesting, fun and entertaining at the Autry Museum. And the food in the cafe is delicious. We spent Sunday afternoon listening to Tradition an Modern Country Music by a dozen or so performers.
Any culture, even if it's only of one, is a valid and valued view of the direction wind blows the vane rather than the pulsation in our veins.
First visit to The Autry. We took a docent tour. It was a good overview & introduction to their very interesting and specialized collection. I especially enjoyed the collection of native american baskets.
If you have Bank of America you get free admission during the first weekend of the month as part of BoA's Museums on Us program.
Great museum with plenty for everyone. Came here to see their PST: LA/LA exhibit and it was touching and informative. Their Playtime exhibit was very nostalgic and great fun for kids as well. But really, their permanent collections are worth visiting on their own: they have beautiful paintings of the west, the history of different groups' movement to the west, western entertainers memorabilia, culture of Native Americans, native plants garden, and live music the day I was there---what more could you want?!
