I've been to several Bowl shows over the years and things have changed. The security is obviously beefed up, but that's to be expected these days. The sound is amazing, even from the cheap seats. The food and drink lines are ridiculously long, but you can plan ahead and pre-order food or bring a picnic basket of your own. I highly recommend researching parking options before the show. Generally the shuttle is the best way to go. I park at the LA Zoo for free and take a shuttle for $6 a person, round trip. You are dropped off right at the security gates. Following these tips made my last few trips the best times I've had at the Hollywood Bowl. So, the morale of the story is plan ahead, do a little research, and you will have a fantastic time.
Great place to listen to your favorite artist with a live band! Bring your own food and drinks, and have a picnic at one of their outdoor seating locations before the show. If you're running late eat your meal in your seat as you watch the show. Plenty of restrooms and parking for a fee. Wheelchair accessible. There are elevators for those who choose not to walk up the steep hills to get to their seat.
Never had a bad experience here. Saw Chris Botti here with Jewel and it was great. There is not a bad seat there and the choices of food is Terrific. We took a shuttle bus there and it was worth every penny of ten dollars. There was no hassle of parking and getting in and out.
It's a good seat any where you sit, all though box seats are far more the way to go! Sound is fairly good. Not always a continuous feed through the mic. Had a tendency to lose what their singing. Giant screens make viewing the performer really nice. Took a luxury bus into the stadium from where I live which made going on and out of the HB less hectic. Overall... A great way to listen to music under the stars!!
Great outdoor venue. Sound was clear and seating was bench style so plenty of room for everyone. Crowd control is a challenge as everyone wants to leave at the same time and there is only one path out on the right hand side. Best approach is to take the stairs to the lowest level inside the bowl and then exit. You will avoid most of the traffic above.
