I was looking online for an appointment to get a new passport and it showed me November what would be a bigger issue because I have no pages in my Passport anymore! I called them and explained why `I need a new Passport! I travel since over two years around the world and continue doing this! I should come on Wednesday and hope for the best! What you need is your birth certificate, the filled out form that you can easy download from the site of the consulate one photo, the automat is in the same office and cost about 5 Dollar for four photos! That is a great price! And a very important document for us German is that you send an email zu deinem Buergerbuero oder Stadverwaltung und you told them that you are in Los Angeles and need a new Passport! They send you an email with einer "Passausstellungsunbedenklichkeitserklärung" I think that is the word for it. That saves you 70 US Dollar! So I had all my documents and it took me 20 Minutes and my new passport was ordered! Everything worked perfect and I go back in four weeks to pick up my Passport! Make sure to have all documents and be nice and polite and you have no issues! Thank you!
Good service. Waiting times not fine. The person who attended me was very nice and helpful. However, giving the difficulty to cross LA, the consulate personnel should be a bit more strict with the people who come and have not even cared about printing the online forms or followed the clear information on the website. I was attended an hour later, the traffic was worse, and I missed another appointment that day.
I recently found out that I am a German citizen through my father and decided to get my German passport. I made an appointment online, but went in without all the necessary paperwork. He was not happy (German's do not hide annoyance well), but no big deal...I filled it out there, took pictures, and was back at the desk in 10 minutes. They had to pull my father's documents from the archives since he is deceased. When we were done, the nice man I worked with gave me all of my father's old passport pictures and even his first two passports. I was so touched!! All in all, it is a very quick process if you follow their requirements, which - as they say - are all easy to find on their website.
I Have been 'shopping around' for visas all this month. I was not able to get a visa here due to a last minute itinerary, but their promptness in response and willingness to help is exceptional.
Great place for hot dogs/sausages in a wide variety of flavors and meats. Nice ordering system you put in your order and can go next door to the bar while you wait. The German potato salad is good too.
