Not very good ambassadors for Thailand!!! I was very disappointed with the poor attitudes and terrible customer service we received all 4 times we went here to conduct business. The information desk guy practically ignored us we arrived and needed direction, once we got to legal window the representative never smiled once, refused to say hello after we greeted her politely. I had a couple questions on procedures and documents, she acted like I was insulting.
I returned at 3:00pm to pick up my passport with visa. It took less than 5 minutes.....total time was less than 15 minutes.
Now that the rude older lady at the information desk appears to no longer work there (maybe they retired her miserable self), the next “best” thing to that level of rudeness is at window #3, or Legalization. Dare I say it’s because I came in with my Thai passport, which was needed to take care of some Power of Attorney bit in Thailand, versus my U.S. one? This is nothing new when it comes to the double standard in customer service towards Thais (bad) and non-Thais (good) by other Thais. As a native Angeleno born and raised in L.A., I can honestly and sadly say that there is absolutely no sense of customer service, so opposite from the image (and it’s all about putting up this front) of friendliness and politeness the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), which is ironically in the lobby of the same building, tries so hard portray. C’mon people…get with the program!
Please don't expect too much on he or she. Something likes you go to DMV , gov't office or immigration office. They are unfriendly also. How many people they deal with. Think about yourself if you work like them, how friendly, kindness and patience you have.
On a more positive note, while you are there go into the Tourism office downstairs and the people inside there pleasant and take time to help in any way. Di Mak Mak!
The service was quite good. Information counter reviewed my application to verify accuracy and completeness. I was then directed to window 3 to submit the application. It took no more than 7 or 8 minutes from the time I arrived until I was given a receipt.
Great service.
NICE SERVICES AND PRO GUIDELINES
They make the DMV attitudes look good!!!
I gave it two stars versus only one because I was in and out of there within minutes on both days I had to go in because there was no queue on either day. It still makes me wonder, though, why they are so miserable when they only have to pop in and out from their hole to come to the service window once in a while.
Also, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is located on the ground floor of the same building. This office is very helpful when planning your trip to the "Land of Smiles".
