Had never been here. The buildings are very impressive. The security staff around the artifacts could be a bit nicer, they are very short and a bit rude. The outdoor areas are very nice with green grass and beautiful gardens. Nice sights to see around the area. You can also see Mt. Saint Mary's college from up top.
This place was expansive and impressive. I would highly recommend it. The collection of paintings are amazing and this is a very friendly museum. It will require quite an bit of walking and, although it does have an army of elevators, you will still have to walk up and down some ramps. They do provide umbrellas for shade and rain protection. The grounds are incredible and gardens were in breathtaking. I would highly recommend. 5 stars.
The Getty is truly one of LA's finest gifts to museum goers. The site alone , gives you a brilliant view of what LA is about. Free to all visitors, the tram and parking areas are designed to transport you to this magical hilltop - where you can enjoy incredible architecture and a wonderful collection of art - thanks to Mr. Getty's vision. The current installations - Pacific Standard Time and the Golden Kingdoms ( breath taking ) are terrific and well shown. I love the well edited gift shops which seem better than most museum shops I've visited. A long day should be planned as you can break for lunch at the cafe.. or if you need a serious space.. the restaurant . This is a real gift for the people of the world and should not be missed if you visit LA.
This place is special, it’s serene. If you are looking to relax and take in some special views and amazing art.. come here. This is one of the most beautiful museums in the US. From the stunning architecture of the buildings, to the gardens, to the grand views.. oh and by the way they also have some of the most renowned works of art here too.. very special place. Visit here!
The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and the art is really exquisite. The day we went, it was really crowded, but the parking and tram attendants kept things flowing smoothly. The gardens are amazing and so tranquil and on a clear day, the view is fabulous. Parking is a bit steep at $15, but entrance to the museum is free. Definitely recommend this place.
