Beautiful small park... surprising peaceful oasis hidden in the middle of the big city. Wonderful staff. A bit of history. Superbly maintained. Fun events. With its old time blacksmith, knowledgeable docents and even a lake filled with ducks and geese, this is one of my favorite spots for taking a break and relaxing. :)

Great blacksmith shop which is open the third Sunday of the month from 1 pm to 3 pm with the forges running and the smiths making stuff. Lots of stuff to look at. The park itself in 5 acres with an 1850"s adobe house , 1870's 2 story limestone bunk house which now houses a museum on the first floor. A limestone chicken coup and food storage building. The massive duck pond, lined with limestone, is fed from a natural hot spring and the well house is also present.

This is a lovely park featuring a small, natural spring lake populated with Geese and ducks. There are several types of geese and a few different types of ducks inclusive of Mallards. You can bring your own food to feed them or are there are conveniently located machines that dispense food. Bring quarters. On site there is a preserved house that was the original owners of the property. They were from Mexico and it was built in the 1800s. There are very many interesting artifacts along the self-guided tour. The admission is free and there is a donation box. Also on the grounds is a stable and a food storage. It's very interesting to see how people lived in the 1800s in Encino. This is a little hidden gem of a park & historical site.

Great food and drinks for a reasonable price. The waitress we had was honest about food and overall superb! The park was clean and well kept.

Multiple events occur throughout the year including the Halloween carnival with kids games and skulls being forged in the blacksmith shop. Shakespeare in the park performance a couple times a year. Victorian picnic in the spring.

THE PARK IS A VERY TRANQUIL AND SOOTHING PLACE TO VISIT, I'VE LIVED IN ENCINO 16 YEARS AND MY FIRST EXPERIENCE, I WILL BE BACK REAL SOON

Duck food is available for purchase from vending machines at the duck pond. You should not bring bread to feed the ducks as it makes them sick and gives them diarrhea. Picnic tables in the shade from pine and olive trees. There is an event area with BBQ area and tables near the citrus grove which is available for reservation from the park office. Large grass field for children to run and play.
