Doctor Brown is a very good doctor and he has been seeing my dog for a few years, however what happened last Friday in his office was OUTRAGEOUS. I ordered 6 pills of Apoquel (a medicine for allergies). This is a very expensive medicine, $3 a pill. They charged me $28 because they added $10 for the refill. $10 extra for a refill of SIX pills, SIX SECONDS of work! When I complained, Dr. Brown came to the front desk and without asking me anything, his first words were: Do you own a business? So do not teach me how to make profit in my business. VERY RUDE and UNEXPECTED answer.
Dr Brown was so nice and caring and explained everything thoroughly. He will be our new Vet!
My dog was having trouble with her bottom teeth and ended up having a dental procedure and was spayed the very same day, when we picked her up a very nice gentleman went over all instructions and then Theresa instructed my husband and I on the meds. One antibiotic and one pain med. For the pain Med, she pulled out two syringes and asked which one I preferred to use, one was long and skinny and one was fat. I explained to her that my dog was so hard to give meds to that the fat one would be best because I wouldn't have to pull it back as far. She proceded to show me on the fat syringe to "pull down to the 6" (my dog is 6lbs) so the next morning I did as she said and gave my dog the dosage as instructed. Later I called to office because she was breathing hard and fast, they said "dr is in a room and I'll tell him when he comes out and if there's a problem, I'll have him call. He Never called and I thought that maybe this was normal after anesthesia. The next morning, I decided to look for myself why two syringes were in the box. I then realized that I was instructed to give my 6 lb dog a 60 lb dosage!! I called the office immediately and again they said, if the Dr feels there's a problem, he'll call you. I asked that the dr call me immediately regardless. Several hours passed, Dr Brown called, said he needs to see Bella asap, she could be bleeding internally and be in kidney failure do to the overdose. He also states the he did not get my message regarding her breathing issue. My husband brought her in, they did in house labs and did not charge but they said they had to charge for a urinalysis because they had to send it out. (98.00) Dr called and said all seemed ok but he wanted protect her stomach and prevent ulcers and meds were 200.00. He also wanted to see her the following week. I bring her in today, he says he wants to repeat the bloodwork to be sure she's ok and I said great (thinking he wasn't charging again) on my way out, I had to pay 196.00 for the in house blood work!! Theresa would not even admit her mistake. I'm very upset to say the least, they almost killed my little girl and then they charge me!! I like the Drs but be very aware of instructions from the front. I of course agreed to pay for her surgery but I shouldn't have had to pay for their major mistake!!
I am been going to Pet Vet for over 15 years. I was referred to then from a very close friend who has been going there for 25+ years. This was the best referral ever. This is the kind of veterinarian office you hope to find. They have been there for me through emergencies, through death, through illness and basic needs of my pets. They sit on the floor and actually treat my animals like humans. They have taken ample am out of time to explain things in person and on the phone regarding my cats diabeties. I am forever so grateful.
One of the best vets in the Valley. Thanks for your honesty and professionalism.
