The saying "nurses eat their young" is what many nurses will experience when they go to work today. I have witnessed this countless times throughout my career and eduction. I’ve seen it happen to others and myself far too many times. Since I was 18, I’ve trained or worked in many hospitals from California to South Carolina, either as a RN, BSN, LVN, CNA, or EMT. Now at 40 years old and with 14 years experience as a RN, I am no longer going to be a bystander.

Bringing awareness to this issue is my goal, especially for patient safety, for all the nurses who don’t even realise they are being mistreated, or who are too scared to speak up for fear of losing their jobs, for fear of retaliation and for all of the young new nurses who don’t deserve to work in toxic environments.
Small very professional. I had best experience ever in a hospital. Will use them in future
Now, working at Kaiser Irvine, I can say I’ve never seen such a well ran facility. Employees are treated fairly & with so much respect. My co-workers are pleasant to work with and we work in a kind environment. The supervisors and nurse leaders are professional at all times and to everyone. There is a anti-bullying culture and a no tolerance rule.
Mission is no longer the go-to hospital in Orange County.
The single worst hospital ER I've ever been to. I'm literally sitting her in the ER with my little sister, who has been sobbing and crying for 3+ hours. With Lower abdominal pain. It's evident that the employees here are very callous, and don't care about the patients. They treat everyone like a herd of cows... Downplaying everyone's illnesses. If you have pain, or need any medical attention. Please don't come here. For the sake of your own health or for the health whomever you are responsible for.
God blessed me with the REAL job of my dreams just after the cardiologist suggested I find another job after developing heart palpitations that I started experiencing while at work there.
There are other facilities that have far surpassed them in the areas of innovative technology, medical standards, & modern equipment.
The employees are so nice and respected, the food there is really good and I'm talking about the patient's food. The cafeteria's food is so good that you should bring a date lol. Employees are so nice you can tell they really care.
October 2017 - Anti Bullying Awareness Month
I was born at Mission hospital 40 years ago. It was a dream of mine to work on that floor one day. I thought that dream had came true several years back. I thought I had landed the job I would retire from. Unfortunately, it had become like a sequel from the movie Mean Girls but with a hospital setting.
Sincerely,
I chose to leave Mission hospital seven months ago because this behavior was directed towards me by the nursing supervisor of over 30 years and by several veteran nurses. When an example is set at an organization starting at the top of the nursing ladder, everyone suffers. It becomes an accepted culture. The patient satisfaction goes down. The employee satisfaction goes down. It’s not fair to all the truly wonderful nurses who are there for the right reasons. Mission has some of the most talented, kind hearted, hard working nurses I’ve ever worked along side of.
Every good nurse deserves to work in a safe environment like the one Kaiser Irvine provides. I pray that God helps every person involved in situations like these to heal and find peace.
I LOVE THIS HOSPITAL. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. DOCTORS ARE TOP NOTCH. FAST. THE BEHAVIOR HEALTH UNIT IS FANTASTIC. MY HOME HOSPITAL.
