What do you expect from a city who has given up and doesn't care about their homeless problem, majority of them at the park just trying to sleep and just exist in peace. Do Not come here if you do not like dealing with the real world and its problems. Not the cleanest but it's very nice,a must for those who enjoy nature who are in the area. Best times are in the morning, don't feed the ducks they will follow you and they'll get sick.
If your looking for a beautiful park to walk around in, I would not recommend this place. It is probably the dirtiest park in all of LA. There is a very large homeless population that lives here. You will constantly see people urinating in the tunnels, it’s almost considered a public bathroom. The park smells awful. There is a large soccer field and people gamble/play cards right next to little kids playing. Find a better park to go to.
I like coming to this park and enjoying the view and being part of my city however there are some downsides to this park, for instance there can be a good amount of bums nearby at times. There are tons of stores nearby to shop at so I do like that. Please be sure to stop by and check out the spot for yourself though.
Great place, full of culture, and street vendors. Yes, there are alot of homeless people and crime elements in the area, but welcome to the big city! This place gives you a real big city type of feeling, I enjoy coming to this area, there are some so many things that make this place special and unique, but you probably should be careful walking the streets around here, especially at night.. but as long as your not here looking for trouble - you should be fine! Try the food from the street vendors here on the corner, their tacos are delicious, home made, and very traditional in style
Pretty decent park. Has gotten better with park ranger keeping on top of homeless camps. Now all they need to work on is the illegal gambling by the soccer fields
